Our sweet girl was 8 years old when she couldn’t quite recover from a couple months of constant sickness. A series of events led us to take her to the local emergency room on October 24, 2022 where within an hour, we had the diagnosis of Leukemia. From there, we had to be transported to Cohen’s Children's Hospital to the most unbelievable team of doctors, nurses, techs, and personnel. It was there she was further diagnosed with B-All Leukemia. They became like a second family to us as Pearl spent almost the entirety of the first 30 days of diagnosis battling an intestinal infection as she began chemotherapy.

She did reach “remission” and continued on her chemotherapy schedule. Her 8 month battle was not without many bumps along the way as her little body’s immune system was ravaged but we also had good days. On June 28, 2023, she woke up unresponsive but breathing. We rushed her to the local ER where she went into cardiac arrest. She was then transferred to Cohen Children’s to be put on Life Support. Sadly, she had contracted an infection in her stomach which caused sepsis and her organs and brain could not recover. She passed away at 9:23am on June 29, 2023. We were in shock, devastated and in disbelief. I think most days, these emotions are still prevalent but there is also a peace knowing she no longer has to fight. In her death, she has continued to reach so many in her magical power of signs and purpose.

Any and all fundraising is for our next project, which is rolling out something fun into Bay Shore … a brand-new skateboard park!
Soon, kids (and kids-at-heart) from near and far will have a spot to cruise, kick, and carve along our beautiful South Shore.
We’re in discussion with the Town of Islip to make this dream park a reality, and we’ve got a really fun plan to get it done! From family-friendly fundraisers to one-of-a-kind merchandise (including a custom skateboard designed just for this park!), we’re pulling out all the stops to bring the stoke to our community.
Every park we build is sprinkled with Pearl’s magic! Her playful, free-spirited energy inspires us to create spaces filled with laughter, connection, and pure joy. Thank you for supporting this vision and helping us create a space our community can enjoy for years to come!
